At first glance of Mr. Delivery's list of markets, most of the cities are recognizable, if not for being large then for being college towns. However, there is one market that stands out from all of the rest. Weston, Florida is a suburb of Miami, and is Mr. Delivery's smallest market with 14 restaurants currently available on our website. However, just because the market is small does not mean it is limited: no two restaurants on our list are alike! Weston is consistently ranked the best place to live in the state of Florida. This can be attributed to the job growth of the area, the status as one of Business Week's best affordable suburbs, and in our opinion, the access to great restaurants through Mr. Delivery! According to Wikipedia, the city is sometimes referred to as "Westonzuela" due to the large population of Venezuelan people. Likewise, you can order from Cafe Canela Venezuelan Restaurant to get a taste of what so many residents likely grew up eating! If you are not feeling quite so adventurous, or if you are Venezuelan and ARE feeling adventurous, there are a plethora of categories to choose from in this small market, as well as Mr. D Deals (read: discounts) currently offered at 10/14 restaurants! And there you have it! Our Weston market is small but mighty, offering anything from comfort food to Caribbean cuisine. If you are planning on moving or retiring to Florida, Weston may need to be an option for you. If not for its impeccable quality of life, then for its awesome array of food!

A few days ago, after a long day sitting in my office (read: on my couch) working hard at my virtual internships, I was overcome with the laziness of not wanting to make myself dinner. Without hesitation, I logged onto OrderUp and began to browse.
OrderUp!? Why would I not order from Mr. Delivery!? Unfortunately, LionMenus (later OrderUp) was founded in State College before Mr. Delivery could claim the delivery territory as its own. As I pondered what my meal should be that night, feeling like I was cheating on Mr. Delivery, I began to wonder just how many food delivery services there are in this country. Naturally, I Googled it, only to find a map of the United States that looks like it has the chicken pox.
So there are a lot of options, which got me thinking: what motivates people to choose one company over another? Are there certain areas where certain companies are preferred? If so, why? Again I turned to Google for answers.
And I could not find anything useful. I even turned to Google Scholar, which when you search "food delivery" only provides articles about feeding infants. The dork in me was appalled that there are no consumer behavior studies when it comes to the food delivery industry, and proposes that something be done to change that. Perhaps we could conduct the first study, and use the information to make your Mr. Delivery experience even better!
Research is not necessarily my forte, but if I were to design such a study I would conduct a survey. I would ask close-ended demographic questions and general questions about the industry, as well as open-ended questions such as, "Why do you choose Mr. Delivery over other delivery services?"
No study is complete without a few predictions, and here are a few things that we think make us stand out from the crowd:
Derby? Fried Chicken? Delivery? This article outlines how food delivery is a new trend picking up in Louisville, and on August 1st Mr. Delivery will be the first non-local business to hop on the band-wagon. What can we bring from out of town that can further improve the food delivery fad? First we can learn a thing or two about the local food scene. Yes, Louisville is home to the KFC chain, but it has so much more to offer than fast-food. Chances are you have been to a Kentucky Derby party the first weekend in May. You probably got dressed up and tailgated with your friends on race day, but in Louisville, the festivities begin two weeks prior to the race, in what is known as the Kentucky Derby Festival. Though horse-racing is at the center of this event, there is also a tradition of fashion, drinking, and of course food. You can watch (as I did in preparation of writing this post) the guy from Man vs. Food explore all three of these aspects in this video. Those who tailgate at the Derby likely are well-prepared in the area of food. However, in my experience tailgating game days as a college student, if you host a large enough tailgate there is never enough food. Nothing is worse than being in the hot afternoon sun, rather drunk and realizing you have run out of food. In these scenarios, it is good to have a backup plan. Do you know how many times I have wished that I could order pizza to a tailgate? Well, what if you could!? In the aforementioned video, Adam Richman visits Chow Wagon, a collection of vendors about 5 miles north of Churchill Downs. What if, when your tailgate inconveniently ran out of food, Mr. Delivery had a group of drivers on sight to deliver food from these vendors? What more, what if you wanted your favorite restuarants to help you out with catering your tailgate? Mr. Delivery could be there for you in these situations, and will be in Louisville for the rest of the year as well, always there to save the day when you simply do not have time to make or pick up food!
It's Sunday morning. You wake up in last nights clothes with a pounding headache and a thirst like you have never tasted water in your life. You crawl out of bed, which might as well be a grave because you feel like you are coming back from the dead, and make your way to the kitchen in search of your Brita pitcher. After gulping down a glass of water or five, your one-track mind finds something else to fixate on: food. You sit down on the couch with your laptop and open up Mr. Delivery, because let's be real: who want's to cook with a hangover? You survey your options, and what you choose is most likely indicative of decisions you made the night before and decisions you will make in the future.
Breakfast Food
You are all about classics and tradition. It is morning, so why not drown your hangover in some bacon and eggs? You were probably drinking your go-to last night, something like beer or cider. The night before was fun, but not particularly wild or crazy. If you live in the Urbana-Champaign area, you are likely going to order from somewhere like Urbana Garden or Taffies. After your delivery arrives and you feast, you can expect a long day of lounging, watching TV or playing N-64.
Pasta
You probably had an intense wine night last night, so why break the cultural streak? You are a classy individual who enjoys the finer things in life, and even though you are not currently at your best you bring a disheveled sort of style to being hungover. Say you live in St. Louis, you'll probably order from Maggiano's. After your cure arrives and is ingested, you will probably read a book and eventually take a nap.
Mexican
If you didn't have tacos with your tequila last night, or if you are still craving some regardless, Mexican is the way to go. Who has ever said, "I really wish I didn't eat that burrito"? (Don't answer that, I don't want to know). You are a really fun person and are always the life of the party. If you are a native of Denver you are probably going to order from La Sandia or 3 Margaritas. After Mr. Delivery arrives and you nom on some dang quesadillas, you will probably spend the day just hanging out with your friends and reminiscing about last night's shenanigans.
Smoothie/Salad
You are probably a health-nut or are really active. Either way, this is the same idea as the vegetables of a Bloody Mary settling the stomach, minus the fun of drinking a Bloody Mary. You were probably drinking cocktails last night or were simply taking shots; anything to get the job done quickly. You are a busy-body and are a highly energetic person, and if you are living in Ann Arbor or Ypsilanti, Tropical Smoothie Cafe is your go-to here. After your food arrives you will probably go for a run or play some kind of sport with your friends to sweat out the rest of your hangover after nourishing yourself.
Pizza/Wings
You are still drunk.
If you are like me you know almost nothing about race cars or the midwest. When you grow up in New York your impression of America is something like this:
However, there are a few things that I know about Indianapolis. They are:
That's right, everyone's favorite D has a brand new location! There will be 30+ restaurants that you can now order delivery from in Indianapolis. Though it would be fun for our drivers to participate in a food-delivery race, that would not be entirely ethical nor safe.
Instead, after reviewing the list of restaurants for Indianapolis, I will present you with the five "teams" and some heavy-hitters from each that will race in the "Indy Food-Hundred" for popularity in the defeat of hanger (hungry-anger, in case you live under a rock). They are:
If you're from Indianapolis, what other restaurants do YOU think are on these teams!? If you're not, which cuisine-team would you support in the race against hanger? Be sure to let us know by placing an order through us next time hanger strikes!!!
You have probably heard the story in Greek mythology about Pandora's Box. You know, the one that is not supposed to be opened because it contains all of the evils in the world. This week we are presenting you with four boxes that are absolutely intended to be opened, clicked on, etc. They contain no evil, only good. We here at Mr. Delivery partake in no evil dealings. We just ask that you make your selection at the very end of this post!
Box 1
This box contains a tool that can only be used to save the world. However, as uncle Ben once said, with great power comes great responsibility. The contents of this box have the potential to make you cry tears of joy and/or make your day. Choosing this box is not for the faint of heart, but if you do you may just find yourself having a superpower. You may ask yourself: how can Mr. Delivery give away something so powerful? Well, we are a food delivery service. We are the heroes that the hungry deserve and also the ones they need right now.
Box 2
In my opinion, there are two great things that bring people together: one is food, and the other is music. Box number two brings us back to that Greek myth that we talked about earlier, but once again this box does not contain any evil. But what lies within!? Is it a romantic record to play in the background of your next dinner date? Is it the soundtrack to Kid Cudi's life? Is it food to eat while listening to some great music? You'll just have to choose this box and find out!!
Box 3
Some would consider the contents of box number two to be a major award. Coming to you all the way from the foreign lands of Italy, the contents are meant to be handled with care. Slightly provocative and lighting up any room with its presence, no one in their right mind would be disappointed after finding what is within this box.
Box 4
Coming at you from a pineapple under the sea, this box is for those who love a bad joke. It is almost as pun-believable as a mushroom walking into a bar being considered a "fun guy," or as a boxing match fought between treasure chests. Those who choose this option are those who love to laugh, and are generally fun people.
So which will you choose!?

How exactly is a college town defined? According to Wikipedia, such a town is a “community that is dominated by its university population.” Though not the most credible of sources, most college students would agree with that definition. (I, the college-student intern, raise my hand).
Burlington, Vermont is no exception. From the outside looking in, one might imagine a gaggle of ski-bums. Though not entirely inaccurate, Burlington is the epitome of a college town. Not only the home of the University of Vermont, Burlington College and Champlain College, Burlington is home to a plethora of quality restaurants.
College towns need quality food to feed all of those hungry college students. And in a town like Burlington, with brutal winters, delivery is an amazing option on sub-zero days. (Huge shout-out to our delivery drivers who drive through the blizzards).
Burlington is also a great place for people who are incredibly active: located near to many ski areas, mountains, and Lake Champlain, there is no shortage of outdoor activities accessible to the town. After a long day of adventure, one may not have time to make dinner at the end of the day. That is where Mr. Delivery comes to the rescue!
Though images of state troopers chugging maple syrup may come to mind, there are many more food options available in Burlington other than breakfast condiments. The options can be viewed here at any time, including right meow! (Assuming you are reading this between the hours of 4pm and 10pm).
So after a long day of fulfilling all of your orders at Mr. Delivery, we decided to have a little fun in the kitchen.
After cookin' up some pretty good meals... we started thinking - wouldn't it be cool if we held our first annual CELEBRITY COOK OFF!
After sending out emails to a couple of celebs to see if they were interested in cooking, we got back seven acceptances. However, we had to break it to Lil B that we weren't interested in the "cooking" that he normally does.
Down below is Lil B's cooking dance.
So after turning down Lil B, we had a solid number of six contestants.
Here is what the six contestants had to tell us about their cooking game. 1. Drake Special ingredient: His own tears Signature Dish: Cake
So those are our six contestants for the Celebrity Cook Off... but who will be the judge?!
The Mr. Delivery team wanted to make sure that there was a proper judge for a cookout of this epic proportion... so we decided to bring in the big guns. We didn't want to make it too easy for the contestants - so therefore... chef Gordon Ramsay of Hell's Kitchen decided to judge it.
So get ready to find out who is the true celebrity "chef" this Friday (June 17th) on our blog. Order your food... get on your laptop... and read... the greatest blog about Celebrity Cook Offs of all time.
Remember - Root for The Chef! Trust us, it will be delicious. At Mr. Delivery, we had an interesting brainstorming session for this blog. We got curious about something written on the whiteboard: "What do people want to eat?" So we went to Ze Interwebz to find answers. And we really didn't get an exact answer... actually we got a wide range of answers from people. We just didn't know. (At that moment, we were all like) So we decided to explore the world of food. So we started out with facts Fact 1: not everyone has the same taste buds, and some people are particular about what they eat. Fact 2: what's gross to some is delicious to others. Fact 3: Most people watch what they eat, even if they love the taste (Even when Mr. Delivery has great deals). But some people go for it - For instance the folks at Epic Meal Time Fact 4: Some people prefer sweet over savory or should we say dinner over dessert. For example, some people really like sweets. But after a while, we were getting bogged down with all those facts so we looked at food from a different angle. Everyone agreed: that was the better way to go. However, as we continued to brainstorm, we got hungry - which had us looking at pictures of Pad Thai . So we ordered a delivery from ourselves, Mr. D. The delivery drivers came and dropped off our food. We all had a great meal - it was tasty and we were content afterwards. It was then that we realized that food is one of the best things in the world when hungry. So after lunch, we revisited our first thought: What do we want to eat? After our light bulb moment, we scratched out our first question and wrote: "We just tryin' to eat." It's true! Some of the best meals have been after a long lecture or a tough workout. Sometimes those late night Mr. Deliveries have made the top 5 best meals. Sometimes we get so hungry that we imagine food around us. So then we had another "AHA" moment... we realized that Mr. Delivery is not just a food delivery service... we are a professional hunger appeasement team - basically superheros in the eyes of hungry college kids. So there you have it! We have come to the conclusion that food is good and all, but it tastes better when you're hungry. HERE FOR THE SECRET CODE? USE coupon code BLOGSTAR at checkout on your restaurant delivery order at www.mrdelivery.com . It's worth $5 off any order for the entire week! Visit the blog each week to check for new secret codes. If you go to University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and happen to live in Bromley Hall, you probably are best friends with every Mr. Delivery driver. As you can see, there are a lot of steps. But once you're over freshman year, it gets better. After the many stairs in Bromley Hall, pledging, and all the hardships of being a Frosh, you get to enjoy some of the best parts of Champaign... However, you have to fight the pain from your noodle legs after walking up and down all those stairs. But after you get past all that pain and finally find a seat in the library to study, you might get hungry. (Library below) And you don't want to give up your seat while studying so you #twEATMrdelivery and order from Mr. D. And after some thought about what to eat, your decision comes down to Bombay Indian Grill and Oishi Asian Cuisine. And you end up ordering from both. It's okay... You earned this. (Below from Bombay Indian Grill) (Below from Oishi Asian Cuisine) So once you walk back to your place, after walking up all of those stairs, you are ready to party. But not just any party... a THEMED party... Or even more specific: a TOGA party But what if the mood is extra special. What if it's the Friday before Saint Patrick's day? Or should we say the Unofficial St. Patrick's Day? Well U of I provides one of the best experiences. Here is a video of what to expect. And if you have a quiz or test around this extended party, you probably will show up drunk or at least buzzed... if not hungover. (Representation of you as a hungover owl below) So after taking that quiz and partying a little more, you get sleepy and decided to take a nap. Tomorrow you will be back in the grind of things, ready to take on the day... made a bit easier by some help from the Chef.
